A few days ago a famous Finnish curator started a conversation about us Finnish artists being lazy in updating our homesites, or even having any at all. Of course - ancient data from the previous century makes curators' job frustrating, trying to find up to date information and photos of artists' works while searching unseen amazingly skillfull but fresh and totally undiscovered candidates to make new amazing curated projects. I can easily understand this. Wait a minute - but I am amazingly unseen amazingly skillfull and amazingly fresh and totally undiscovered ! On the other hand - this makes me here a living proof that it doesn't mean a shit whether an artist updates her homepage frequently, has uploaded lots of photos of her works, an up to date CV and stupidly huge amounts of essential info about the artist's oeuvre and background (and ... ehm there might be a few other issues also - but hey, at least am keeping them in supervised conditions inside here and not ejaculating daily in Facebook!) - and all is arranged neatly in several clear directories and subdirectories, and on top of it all - an up to date blog (as a matter of fact several) with absurd daily posts. Because the curator forgot to tell something ... yes all that but all that is only decoration for nothing and a total waste of time, if there is absolutely no thing of interest in the content ! This sure explains a lot why no one in this whole wide world yet got interested in the little old frustrated me however much I labor here on my site. What a relief. It seems I am doing everything right in the internet so it must be my art ! (Total shit, that's what i've been telling you here for the past 3 years.) And all along I thought it was me doing this net thing all wrong and fucking up my career here with all the wrong moves but no - all good am doing it right futile ponderings written and published in A I R B O R N E by © 2017 Tiina Hölli 29.11.17 02:00 |
